A decade later, in Acre, while tending to an old farmer, Thomas received an unexpected gift. The man drew out a silver cross, darkened by time yet unmistakable: the same Gothic lines, the same sharp angles Thomas remembered.
“I found it years ago,” the farmer said, “among the goods of a ship from the north. Its unusual shape struck me.” Thomas immediately recognized his cross.

It had returned to him after years of unknown journeys. It was not mere silver, but a fragment of his soul. He wore it again, feeling its reassuring weight. Not a sign of destiny, but a promise fulfilled.
