EVERY RELIC IS A THRESHOLD

Every relic is a threshold
Not all objects occupy the same space.
Some remain before you. Others change the point from which you look.
It is a subtle difference, yet a decisive one.
Not everything is made to remain outside
Many objects are designed to be observed.
They reveal themselves. They allow themselves to be understood. A relic follows a different logic.
It does not merely stand before you. It introduces a different distance between you and what you are looking at.
The moment it shifts position
There is no obvious transition.
It is not tied to the gesture. It is not tied to possession.
It is something that happens when it ceases to be merely an object.
And becomes a threshold.
To cross is not to possess
Most people remain on the surface.
They observe, assess, choose.
But they do not shift position.
To cross is different.
It means accepting that not everything can be possessed in the same way.
Some things are not held.
They are safeguarded.
A threshold is not always visible
Not all thresholds have a recognisable form.
They are not always apparent at once.
And that is precisely why they work.
Because they do not impose themselves.
They reveal themselves only when they are recognised.
Forged in Venice
Every “threshold relic” is born in Venice, within the Tempio DECEM.
Not all reveal what they are at once.
Some require time. Others require a different way of seeing.
