Heartbeat Nightfall
Some artefacts reveal themselves immediately. Others guard their true nature. The artefact identified as HEARTBEAT was recovered in the Zona Cicatrice Iberica, beneath the remains of an ancient residential unit buried by wind and sand. Its original name was reconstructed after consulting the Historical Archive of Minngard. The preserved legal identification hallmark, together with the Roman numeral X registration mark traceable to the historic DECEM workshops, enabled archivists to authenticate the artefact and reconstruct its historical identity. At first examination, the artefact was provisionally attributed to the historic Memento Collection. Only during archival restoration was an anatomical heart revealed inside the skull, surrounded by elaborate Baroque motifs. Two natural black diamonds remained in the eye sockets, preserved after centuries of burial. The Department of Precious Material Culture of Minngard classifies these pieces under the archival variant NIGHTFALL, reserved for HEARTBEAT artefacts recovered with their original natural black diamond eye inserts still intact. Like every DECEM artefact, HEARTBEAT belongs to no single age. It belongs to time.
