Through these three identities, the protagonist methodically exacts his revenge, repaying the enemies who falsely accused and imprisoned him in their own coin. He enters their lives, posing as a friend and destroying them from within, in a kind of Dantesque retribution, while ensuring happiness and freedom for the few who remained loyal.
